Operations And Plan Directorate

It has four branches. They are Joint Operation Branch, Foreign Affairs and Protocol Branch, Communication, Computer & Intelligence Branch and Plan & Project Branch. This Directorate is responsible for 14 tasks:

  • Defence policy, plans and treaty commitments.
  • Mobilization of the defence services.
  • Coordinate and control the activities of Defence Services deployed in aid to civil power.
  • Procurement policy on weapons and equipment.
  • Policy for the weapons and equipment of the Armed Forces, inter service organizations and para military forces.
  • Table of Organization and Equipment.
  • All outgoing and incoming visits of military delegations.
  • Joint services staff duties.
  • Joint services intelligence.
  • Inter service communication.
  • Frequency spectrum management for the Armed Forces and all Law Enforcing Agencies of Bangladesh.
  • Maintain Disaster Monitoring Cell at Prime Minister's Office.
  • 'Bangladesh National Authority' for Chemical Weapon Convention within the country and with OPCW.
  • Implementation of Asrayan/Abashon Project.
