International Day of United Nations (UN) Peacekeepers is observed on 29 May of each year round the globe. Bangladesh being one of the largest troops contributing countries observes the day with due importance.
- To celebrate the UN day in a befitting manner in coordination with the three services headquarters (Army, Navy, Air Force), Armed Forces Division (AFD), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) undertakes the following programmes:
- “Peacekeepers Run” in Dhaka city and other major cities of Bangladesh.
- Commemoration of International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers chaired by Hon’ble President/ Hon’ble Prime Minister at Bangabondhu International Convention Centre (BICC), Dhaka.
- Publish “UN Day Journal” with the articles on UN deployment experiences. by Bangladeshi peacekeepers.
