Civil Military Relationship Directorate

Civil Military Relationship Directorate has three sections. These are Protocol & Ceremony (P&C Section), Civil Liaison (CL Section) and Bangladesh National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention (BNACWC Section). This Directorate is responsible for following tasks :

  • Coordination of all ceremonial matters related to Defence Services on visits of the Hon’ble President or Hon’ble Prime Minister and Foreign Head of States or Government.
  • Coordination with Defence Services and other forces regarding all ceremonial matters, parade, guard of honour and motorcade.
  • Organizing and Celebrating of ‘Armed Forces Day’ at AFD, Army Multi-Purpose Complex (AMPC) and Senakunja.
  • Celebration of National Day Parade, ‘International Day of UN Peacekeepers, Hardware Display and Iftar Party.
  • Invitation of Defence Services personnel in national/international/services days and ceremonies.
  • Employment of retired armed forces officers in civil organizations and fixation of seniority, pay and other claims.
  • Employment of retired armed forces personnel on deputation in civil department.
  • Coordination and liaison with different ministries for the welfare of gallantry award holders freedom fighters and their nominees.
  • Coordination with concerned agencies for the welfare and rehabilitation of retired armed forces personnel and their families.
  • Coordination with Defence Services for namaj-e-janaja/funeral parade of service personnel including freedom fighters.
  • Draft, review and support implementation of Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) related rules and regulations in Bangladesh.
  • Design and execute customized training package for various stakeholders to build specialized capacity.
  • Arrange class, interactive session, seminars, symposiums, competitions for growing awareness on CWC related issues.
  • Prepare and send various reports and returns on CWC to OPCW.
  • Verify the declarable activities of various industries through local inspections and other procedural checks.
